Freedom of Association and Government Discrimination
Proposal 1
This is a first attempt at including the unpopular issue of affirmative action with the rights of buisness.

Issues:
Any kind of government forced affirmative action is government racism. Universities and buisnesses should not be limited or required by the government to provide or deny services to any particular group.
Principles:
Individual rights should not be denied, abridged or enhanced at the expense of other people's rights based on sex, wealth, race, religion, age, political preference or sexual orientation. The right to trade and sell goods includes the right not to trade—for any reasons whatsoever. The right of association includes the right not to associate, for exercise of this right depends upon mutual consent.
Solutions:
While we do not advocate private discrimination, we do not support any laws which attempt to limit or ban it. The lost buisness from customers who are turned away is punishment enough. However, universities and other institutions that take taxpayer money should not be allowed to discriminate based on race, sexual orientation, or gender.
Transisitional Action:
The Libertarian Party opposes discrimination by the government and government intervention in private buisness, and will work to repeal laws that seek to bridle the rights of individual buisness owners and force public institutions to discriminate.
