we have the option of doing nothing; that is accepting what the LP already

The LP Platform Currently Reads
The Issue: Government has historically
asserted a monopoly on space exploration.
The Principle: Voluntary, peaceful
use of outer space should not be regulated by government. Space related activity
is not a proper function of any government except for the protection of
the terrestrial borders of that nation and its people located within that
territory.
Solutions: We support all peaceful,
private, voluntary attempts to explore, industrialize and colonize any extra-terrestrial
resources.
Transitional Action: We support the
privatization of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration
